If you’re a DND enthusiast or someone who’s always wanted to dive into the world of Dungeons and Dragons, I’ve got some thrilling news to share. After months of preparation, I’ve had the honour of interviewing 10 of the most talented DND Game Masters in Australia, and I couldn’t be more excited to announce the launch of our very own Celestial DND Campaigns!
But what makes this campaign so special? Let me walk you through the details of what’s coming.
A Custom Fae-Themed Campaign
We’ve written an exclusive fae-themed campaign that’s set to transport you into a realm of fantasy like no other. Based on the elven race in DND, this 6-month journey will take you through the four seasonal courts, where you’ll meet intriguing characters, possibly attend a magical ball, and embark on an epic quest.
Here’s the challenge:The balance between the seasonal courts is delicate, and ancient forces threaten to disrupt it. As you progress from level 1 to 10, you’ll gather the power of the seasons, face primordial avatars, and ultimately prevent the world from being engulfed in endless night or perpetual day.
How It Works
Duration: The campaign runs for 6 months, with groups of 6 players.
Game Length: Each game will last around 3 hours and will be played online. While we’ll start with video on to say hello, you can switch to video off for most of the game if that’s more comfortable.
Scheduling: We’re offering both weekly and fortnightly options, with most games taking place in the evening on weekdays or weekends, so you can pick what works best for you.
Supportive and Inclusive Play
One of the most important aspects of our Celestial DND Campaigns is that we’ve taken extra care to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all players, regardless of experience. Our Game Masters will adhere to a Celestial Code of Conduct, and they’re specifically trained to support novice players and those who may feel anxious or have specific areas they’d like to avoid.
We want this to be a welcoming space for everyone, so if you're new to DND or have a bit of game-related anxiety, you’re in great hands. And for those who are seasoned players, you’ll find that the level of professionalism from our Game Masters is top-notch, offering a high-quality experience throughout.
What You’ll Receive as a New Player
To make sure everyone is fully immersed in our fae-filled world, each new player will receive a welcome pack, which includes:
The full backstory of the world you’ll be playing in
A newspaper article from the world with news ready to start
A map of the seasonal courts
A custom dice pack and character-building sheets
A list of the programs we’ll use and an introduction guide
Plus, your first session (called Session Zero) will be focused on creating your character and going over the basic rules of gameplay. Your Game Master will walk you through everything, so even if it’s your first time playing, you’ll be fully prepared to jump in!
One-Shot Games for a Taste of the Action
If you’re curious but not quite ready to commit to a 6-month campaign, we’re also launching a series of one-shot games. These single-session adventures offer a little taster of our Celestial world, giving you the chance to create a character, complete a small quest, and decide if you’d like to join the full campaign afterward.
These one-shot games are an excellent way for newcomers to get a feel for the game or for veterans to dip their toes into our world before the main event.
What’s Next?
Right now, we’re working with our artists to bring the non-player characters (NPCs) to life, finalising training for our Game Masters, and locking in the schedules for the games. We plan to roll out the first round of one-shot games in November, with the full 6-month campaigns kicking off in January.
For those attending the Brisbane Festival, the campaign will wrap up just in time for our in-person DND day—the perfect way to close out the adventure in style!
